Frequently Asked Questions

 

Voting places will be open for voting on Wednesday the 26th day of October, 2022 between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm at the Melita Legion Hall, 95 Main Street, Melita, Manitoba.

 

IDENTIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE.  A person may be required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification (for example – driver’s license or passport) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity.

YES, THERE WILL BE.

For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but reside at a health care facility, a mobile voting station will be set up at the following health care facility on election day October 26, 2022.


  1. Melita Health Centre, 147 Summit St.            9:00 am to 10:00 am

  2. Melita Lodge, 198 Townsend Dr.                    10:30 am to 11:30 am

YES YOU CAN!

For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but who have reason to believe that they will be absent or otherwise unable to attend their proper voting place on election day, an advance voting opportunity will be located at the Town of Melita Council Chamber at 79 Main Street and will be open Tuesday the 18th day of October, 2022 between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person, in writing, or by fax to the senior election official at 79 Main Street, Box 364, Melita, Manitoba, R0M 1L0.

If applying in person*, a voter may apply between September 28th and October 23rd, 2022.

* A voter applying in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.

 

If applying by mail or fax**, a voter may apply between July 28th and October 23rd, 2022.

** A voter applying by mail or fax will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the senior election official.
