Home of Sunny the Banana & Breezy the Blue Jay
In 2007, our committee announced the “Banana Belt of the Southwest” project – a statue of a banana for our town. The statue is 30 ft. height, tasteful and certainly unique. Melita is not only the “Grassland Birds Capital of Manitoba”, it is also a town with “A-peel”.
Banana Days is the annual Summer event celebrating all-things Melita. Banana Days is organized by the Melita Banana Days committee, alongside dozens of volunteers. It is the largest organized festival in our community, attracting many to our town to celebrate.
